It’s officially 2020, and while a new year always encourages new resolutions, there’s no better time for a fresh start than a new decade.
Many of us have kicked off the (roaring) ‘20s with a revamped health and fitness routine, including better eating habits, more self-care and, of course, some new workouts.
But before you go all in on a new gym membership or a package of cycling classes, let us introduce Rise Nation.
For starters, Rise Nation is the brainchild of Jason Walsh, a Hollywood-based fitness expert who’s trained the likes of Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston and Brie Larson…to name a few!
After several of his clients came to him with injuries from various workouts and group classes, Walsh realized something was missing in the fitness industry: A safe and effective science-based workout for strength and cardio.
Cue his idea for Rise Nation, a 30-minute music-focused versaclimber class using a machine called “The Climber.” Essentially, The Climber imitates the movement of scaling a mountain with little impact, and even more scientific, it’s the same concept as crawling, bringing people back to the full-body, natural motion we first learned as babies.
Sounds like a brilliant concept, right? Indeed, it is…but a great idea doesn’t always make for an easy business—something Walsh had to learn the hard way.
Watch this three-part series to see how Jason Walsh carried Rise Nation through some big business challenges, cultivated a following from people like Jennifer Aniston, LeBron James and Mark Cuban, and eventually expanded nationwide.
