Actor and comedian Jason Sudeikis says everything he did growing up led him to his successful career path in showbiz.
“I wanted to be whatever I just saw,” Sudeikis explains in an interview with Grow Wire, noting all of the popular movies he watched growing up. “And so what that says to me now is that I wanted to do all these different things, and I sort of get to as an actor.”
Movies aside, real-life circumstances—like a breakup with his high school sweetheart—also helped prepare him for his acting career. Life in Hollywood is full of rejection. The word “no” is a pill all actors have to swallow—and swallow often.
And that’s a challenge entrepreneurs have to overcome as well. When looking for investors or funding, denial is par for the course.
So, we asked Sudeikis for his advice: How can actors, entrepreneurs or anyone facing rejection in their careers or lives handle the blow of “no” and move forward in a productive manner?
