We broke down this episode of the The Grow Wire Show into a three-part series to better tell the Hint story. Moving forward, we will continue creating mini series for our Grow Wire Show episodes.

Happy New Year!

As is typically the case this time of year, many of you probably wrote down your 2019 resolutions to live a happier, healthier, more fulfilled life. And if you happen to be one of those people whose fulfilled life includes losing a little bit of weight, you’re certainly not alone.

In fact, on this episode of The Grow Wire Show, we sat down with Kara Goldin, a former AOL executive who hit the end of her rope while trying to lose the baby weight after her third child. She was exercising, eating well, swapping regular soda for diet soda and doing everything right.

Or so she thought.

After diving into some research, Goldin soon realized those diet sodas were her biggest barrier to shedding the pounds, but due to her distaste for water, she went looking for something else—something without the additives and sweeteners that come in diet drinks.

She came home empty-handed, and thus, Goldin’s journey with Hint, inc. began.

She started making her own tasteful beverage by adding different fruit to her water, and to her surprise, her family and friends couldn’t get enough of it. That’s when Goldin realized the market was lacking something huge.

She convinced her husband, Theo Goldin, to team up with her, and together, they decided to build a company called Hint based off the idea of fruit-enhanced water without artificial sweeteners.

Of course, getting this thing off the ground was a whole different story.

Oh, and by the way, Goldin found out she was pregnant with their fourth child the same day she pitched the business idea to her husband. Talk about a real boss!

From challenges with bottling and distribution to issues regarding shelf life to convincing grocery stores to give them a bigger display, the Goldins overcame it all. And today, they’re running one of the largest independent, non-alcoholic beverage distribution companies in the nation.

They believed in their vision with Hint, and they never gave up. So, whether your resolutions this year are to lose weight or to finally take your big idea to the next level, this story will certainly inspire you.

Watch the three-part series to find out how the Goldins overcame their obstacles and turned Hint into the fruitful, multifaceted business it is today.
